Hematology and Clinical Pathology lab

The Hematology lab consists of Hematology, Coagulation, Clinical pathology.
The hematology lab is equipped with completely automated 5-part hematology analyzer & ESR analyzer for accurate measurement of routine hematological parameters such as Hemoglobin, Total leukocytes count, Differential Leukocyte count and platelet count. QBC method is used for screening of Malaria, besides routine tests.

The complete workup of anemia and Leukemia is done by Bone marrow aspiration study, Hemoglobin electrophoresis, G6-PD levels, Ham’s test etc. The coagulation lab is equipped with a semi-automated analyzer. Routine coagulation tests such as PT, APTT, TT, fibrinogen essay, D.dimmer assay are done using high quality reagents. Special Haemostasis workup such as platelet aggregative study, L.A. study are also done.

The clinical pathology lab is equipped with a semi automated urine analyzer to do the routine chemical analysis of urine and besides this routine and stool examination is done.

All the equipments well maintained internal quality control is done. Three level commercial controls and patient controls everyday. External quality control is done on a monthly and quarterly basis with other laboratories in the country.
