The department deals with all surgical problems in children from newborns and include neonatal surgery, urology, neurosurgery, oncosurgery, thoracic, airways surgery, gastrointestinal;, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgeries.

Expertise is available for correction of major congenital malformations in the neonate. Highly specialized facilities exist for the management of emergencies and complex surgical problems in infants and children. Pediatric bronchoscopy, cystoscopy, laproscopy and thoracoscopy, both diagnostic and therapeutic are also available.

The department has a well developed pediatric surgery service with good supportive staff, an excellent pediatric intensive care facility all endoscopic facility. We have consultants who are experienced in more than 100 lapaproscopic surgeries which had been performed in infants and children without any morbidity. We have facility for pneumatic reduction of intussusception.

The parents accompany the children to the theatre until they are asleep. Major gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary reconstructive surgery is being regularly performed witrh good outcomes. The post operative pain is minimal and is taken care of by various modes of pain relief depending on the type of surgery.

Pediatric Day Care Surgery
The hospital has a separate day care facility for children to have surgery and return home the same day. More than 100 cases have been done without a single child having to stay beyond the stipulated time or return with any morbidity. One day stay the allow child to recover from surgery at home. All the day care surgeries are available as a fixed price package.
