Swellings and/or Tumours of the Hand
Arising from skin, tendon sheath, nerves, blood vessels, bone and joints of the hand. Most are simple cysts and soft tissue swellings. Some tend to increase in size gradually and certain others start with pain and rapidly increase in size. But very few are ominous from their very onset (malignant tumours). Swellings with pain, sudden increase in the size and restriction of hand function require URGENT consultation with the Hand specialist. Appropriate investigations are followed by surgery. Biopsy of the swelling is always done to know / confirm the nature of the swelling and for any additional treatment.
